A cybercriminal known as “7****7” is selling a database of 45,000 Chinese women living in the US on a dark web marketplace called Chang’An Sleepless Night for $350. The database includes full names in Mandarin, US mobile numbers, partial physical addresses (city and state), and relationship status, allegedly sourced from a dating app. However, it does not contain email addresses or passwords. This kind of sensitive data can fuel identity theft and social engineering scams. The seller, active since May 2023, has a moderate credibility rating and has posted over 30 times about leaked data impacting Chinese and international entities. This breach raises serious concerns about data privacy and the growing black market for personal information. If you use dating apps, ensure your privacy settings are strict, avoid sharing unnecessary details, and monitor any suspicious activity on your accounts. The sale of such data not only endangers personal security but also highlights the ongoing risks of digital exposure in today’s interconnected world.
